Olivia Cooke Keeps Hyping Up ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3

House of the Dragon fans have been waiting patiently for more season three info, and series star Olivia Cooke has thrown them a bone or two.

Cooke told Screen Rant earlier this week that the upcoming season would be “massive,” and she’s only continued to hype it up. In a recent Collider interview, she described it as “bigger and more ferocious than before. It starts off with a bang: the first two episodes were essentially supposed to be our finale last year, so you can just imagine that sort of energy.”

That’s good news for fans who thought last season was a bit lacking; especially as the third season will apparently feature moments meant for season two.

Despite production working throughout the 2023 Hollywood strikes due to local UK union rules, Dragon’s second season had only eight episodes as opposed to the first season’s 10—the standard season length for most of Game of Thrones’ run. It sounds like season three will return to that larger episode count while also covering more ground from the books: In March, showrunner Ryan Condal revealed four major events from the book Fire & Blood will be adapted for the coming season, one of which will become a “conceptual” episode that’ll reportedly be different from anything else fans have seen so far.

Still no word on when House of the Dragon will return, though. Production is expected to continue through October, so it could be a while before we see what Cooke’s so hyped about. On the bright side, another Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is slated to hit HBO sometime in 2026.
